MemiBeasts

MemiBeasts is an educational swipe cards style game with the addition of beast collection. This was the first game released at my time at Memini and I'm extremely proud of what we created.

Being the only games developer in the team made me responsible for most aspects of game development, apart from art production and back end server side programming for the educational part of the game.

Highlighted features I created: 

• ​Functional card deck system to simulate the swiping of cards and progression through the deck (actually only 3 cards but object pooled).
• Created a daily rewards system to encourage users to return to the game each day (user would receive a pack of beast cards dependant on day streak).
• Implemented modifiers (lures) to enhance gameplay. Double beast lure (doubled beasts found in each area), missing beast lure (user sees most needed beast in area), crystal beast lure (users could see 'special beasts' for areas).
• Developed a 'Happy Hour' system to bring users back to the games at 6:00pm everyday for an hour of double beasts.
• Created the areas system for certain types of beasts to be seen in their areas and previous (dirt beasts seen in dirt area, grass and dirt in grass, water, grass and dirt seen in water, etc).
• Integrated Facebook SDK for login and to use same account on iOS and android.
• Created an achievement system to add user engagement (times entering areas, correct swipes, number of beasts collected, etc).
• Implemented the 'Beastpedia' that showed the user their collected beasts progressions.
• Integration of MeminiSDK and methods to enable language learning. This included addition of a 'revision list' page showing users the words they need to learn.
